DVG with strict control on Hygiene and Health Certificates
ORANJESTAD - The Department of Public Health (DVG), Division of Food Inspection and Hygiene (DWH) regularly conducts hygiene and health certificate checks at supermarkets and in the food and beverage sector.
The inspection controls food quality and protects the community from contagious diseases through food.
By law, everyone who works with food and drinks must have a valid health certificate, especially at the DWH inspection. For the food and beverage sector, this requirement is not new. Those who do not comply with the law and allow employees without a valid health certificate to handle food can face sanctions, and the establishment will be closed until the employees have a valid health certificate. If DWH inspects on a Friday and finds that the employees do not have their health certificates in order, the establishment could remain closed for the entire weekend.
To prevent DWH from closing businesses, DVG reminds all supermarkets and the food and beverage sector to adhere to all hygiene regulations and ensure that every employee who handles food has their health certificate in order. Do not wait until DWH comes to your establishment for an inspection to rush and get your employees' health certificates, as this takes approximately ten working days to be ready.
