Today Is the Final Day to Pay Motor Vehicle Tax for 2026

ORANJESTAD – The Tax Department reminds all motorists that today, February 2, 2026, is the final day to pay the motor vehicle tax for 2026.

Important: there is no extension of the payment deadline. All taxpayers are strongly urged to make their payment on time.

Tax Rate

The tax rate has not changed. If there has been no change of vehicle, you will pay the same tax rate as in 2025. Taxpayers who do not remember the amount due may consult their vehicle registration card. The “BO Tax” app is no longer available.

Payment via Online Banking

As all our offices are extremely busy and waiting times are long, we strongly recommend making the payment via online banking before 12:00 noon today. It is essential that the payment is credited to our account today. Late payments may be credited only on February 3, in which case a penalty will apply.

Select the option “Payment” and then “DIMP – Motor Vehicle Tax.” In the payment description, please include the personal ID number, license plate number, and tax period, for example:
12345678, A-99500, 2026.

After payment, the receipt can be requested online via impuesto.aw. Additional information and bank details are available on the homepage of our website.

Payments Only Today

Today, cash services are available exclusively for taxpayers making payments. For this reason, no vehicle registration services will be provided today. Taxpayers who need to obtain license plates must go to Camacuri, to the office where license plates are issued.

Penalty

As of tomorrow, February 3, a penalty will be automatically applied for non-compliance. The penalty amounts to 50% of the tax due.
Example:
Semiannual tax amount: Afl. 150
Penalty: Afl. 75
Total amount due: Afl. 225

Avoid additional costs. Pay on time!
