The trade delegation left for Agroalimentaria 2025 in the Dominican Republic.

ORANJESTAD—On May 28, 2025, a trade delegation of 30 local entrepreneurs left for Santo Domingo to attend Agroalimentaria 2025.

Reducing the cost of living in Aruba is a top aim, as stated in the Governance Plan 2025-2028 AVP-Future Cabinet and the Ministry of Finance, Economy, and Primary Sector's vision.
This is possible by mitigating the impact of, among other things, increased prices of US-imported products. The main goal of attending Agroalimentaria 2025, one of the most important agricultural fairs in the Caribbean, which will take place May 28 to 31, 2025, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, is to explore import expansion in the region.

The Department of Economic Affairs, Commerce, and Industry (DEACI) will lead Aruba's official participation in close coordination with the consul and vice-consul of the Dominican Republic's Consulate General in Aruba. As previously stated, 30 Aruban traders from various industries interested in agricultural goods and drinks departed for Agroalimentaria 2025.

To increase their contacts and relationships in the agricultural sector of the region, the dealers can establish direct connections with Santo Domingo firms at the fair. There will be business rounds, direct meetings with Dominican exporters, conferences, and presentations related to the current and future development of the agricultural field.
The traders can examine the Dominican products personally, evaluate their quality, and thus explore possible imports to Aruba.

Since 2018, DEACI coordinated different trade missions to Santo Domingo and will continue in the same way in this year's edition. With the support of the Dominican government, a new maritime route has been established between the Dominican Republic and Aruba via Don Andres, which helps facilitate consolidated cargo transportation.
