The renovation of Cas Veneranda is in full swing.

This is an old post.

ORANJESTAD - Recently, the Minister of Economic Affairs, Communication, and Sustainable Development, Geoffrey Wever, conducted a site inspection at the construction site of Cas Veneranda, accompanied by Mrs. Daphne Every and Mrs. Anne Witsenburg of the Stichting Monumentenfonds, who is managing the restoration project.

Currently, the project is in the demolition and preparation phase for the public tendering of the restoration. During the tour, they toured the classic building and the process leading to a jewel of a building and another cultural heritage in Oranjestad.

In addition to the building's restoration and the preservation of its original aspects, it will undergo modern architectural adaptations and gain a multifunctional character. The space will provide various economic activities. It will also house the Department of Economic Affairs, Commerce, and Industry (DEACI). Additionally, a space for private meetings is available to the public, as well as a restaurant.

With these diverse activities, more people will use the building and enjoy one of the most iconic buildings in our city center.

Together, we must revitalize our city center by:

  • Restoring monumental buildings;
  • Improving the quality of the infrastructure around Oranjestad;
  • Ensuring more accessibility and safety.

These efforts translate into a prosperous city that meets all the requirements for a viable commercial city.

The aim is to complete the restoration of Cas Veneranda in 2025.
