The outgoing Chair of the Royal Decoration Commission visits the Prime Minister.

This is an old post.

ORANJESTAD – Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes recently bid farewell to the Chair of the Royal Decoration Commission in Aruba, Mrs. Filomena Lopez.

After years of voluntary service, Mrs. Filomena is stepping down as Chair of the Royal Decoration Commission in Aruba. For this special occasion, Mrs. Natasha Anthony, the new Chair, and the commission visited the Prime Minister to thank Mrs. Filomena for her service and dedication to something so important.

The Royal Decoration Commission receives all nominations from citizens and evaluates whether they meet all the requirements and where more justification is needed to substantiate the nomination. It is a significant voluntary task, and for many years, Mrs. Filomena Lopez led this commission as Chair. After this process in Aruba, the nomination is sent to the Netherlands to be screened by the Kapittel voor de Civiele Orden (Netherlands Chapter of the Civil Orders), which decides whether to grant the decoration.

Meanwhile, the 2025 Royal Decoration nominations round has begun, and forms are available at the Government Office, the Auxiliary Government Office in San Nicolas, and the MFAs.

You can also download the forms here:

Citizens who wish to nominate someone for a royal decoration can complete both forms and submit them before July 31, 2024.
