The government intensifies cooperation against digital crime during a visit to High Tech Crime in the Netherlands.

ORANJESTAD—During his official visit to the Netherlands, the Minister of Justice, Integration, and Public Transport, mr. drs. Arthur Dowers, visited the head of the Operational Affairs Department of the High Tech Crime Unit of the National Police Services Agency, Mr. Stan Duif.

The meeting addressed combating cybercrime, developing early intervention policies, and strengthening the international cooperation platform.

Cybercrime is a growing threat in the rapidly changing world that affects citizens and institutions. Digital fraud, phishing, personal data theft, and attacks on vital infrastructure are all rising in the Caribbean. The vulnerability of small islands such as Aruba emphasizes the need to strengthen our cyber defense and cooperation with international digital security networks. 

During the meeting, Minister Dowers stressed the urgency of adapting our legal system to the digital reality. He expressed his determination to strengthen the strategic partnership between Aruba and the digital security authorities in the Netherlands. 

Aruba is prepared to take concrete steps to prevent digital threats, in close cooperation with its regional and international partners, to ensure the safety and tranquility of our people in an era where everything is increasingly connected.
