The exhibition 'Kinderkunst in 3D’: From Design to Creation
ORANJESTAD - A three-dimensional art show with works by kids from 9 to 13 years old opened at Unoca on August 5, 2024.
Over the past three months, Pieter Verduijn from Makerpedia taught a 3D art course called 'Kinderkunst in 3D'.
Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes attended the final exhibition, celebrating the students' journey and showcasing their work. The result is an impressive exhibition of 3D-printed creations.
Art education from a young age shapes flexible minds, promotes fundamental aspects of a child's development, and contributes to their personal growth. It stimulates original and creative thinking and allows children to express their emotions through art. 3D art is a vibrant dimension where creativity knows no bounds, thus contributing to the child's art education. It involves learning to create, understand, and appreciate three-dimensional artworks. It goes beyond a simple drawing or traditional painting and includes sculpture, ceramics, digital modeling, and animation. It presents art as something experimental and interactive. 3D art is becoming an essential part of education worldwide.
Art boosts children's creativity and self-confidence, making them feel that whatever they set their minds to, they can achieve. The Prime Minister congratulated Pieter Verduijn and Tess Monte on this project and the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds, UNOCA Aruba, and Setar for their contributions.
