The alliance between A.T.A. and CEDE Aruba aims to improve the quality of life on our island.
ORANJESTAD - In alignment with the strategies outlined in the Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA)'s MACS (Multi Annual Corporate) 2025-2035 management plan, both A.T.A. and CEDE Aruba have a shared interest in their organizational goals and direction.
For A.T.A., considering the local feeling and the welfare of our community, a strategic alignment with CEDE Aruba is beneficial.
"For us, striking a balance between the influence of tourism, economic development, and the general well-being of our inhabitants is crucial. For the community to provide a good service to our visitors, they must be happy. And to reach that level, one must be able to count on social, mental, and environmental tranquility. Community to do the same”, said Ronella Croes, CEO at Aruba Tourism Authority.
A.T.A. approached CEDE Aruba, and the professionals in A.T.A. studied the different projects and agreed to provide financial support of half a million florin, divided over two years, to realize a list of valuable events and programs. The Aruba Volunteers Platform is a program that promotes more local volunteers as tourists to help organizations in the community. With this, we want to improve corporate social responsibility and active community involvement by local and international businesses. It also facilitates voluntourism, giving visitors more opportunities to give back.
The reinstatement of the Happy to Give Back initiative, which allows guests to donate to our community, is another aspect of the deal. It will draw attention to the global effort launched by A.T.A., “When you love Aruba, it loves you back.”
Funds have been allocated for the Youth After-School Activities program to organize a minimum of 10 enrichment and leadership programs (workshops and activities, 14 sessions per group) for 200 local youth, in collaboration with international partners and volunteers. The program will prevent juvenile neglect, stimulate personal development and leadership skills.
A.T.A. is also pleased to have approved financial support for the neighborhood activities and festivals.
With the help of neighborhood organizations, it will plan four festivals and events in the area, including multicultural fairs, food festivals, and local art markets. A.T.A. wants increased community engagement, cultural expression, and recreational opportunities for locals and visitors.
The Corporate Plan of A.T.A. and the Multi-Annual Corporate Strategy contain efforts to achieve the right balance in terms of attention to the quality of life of our inhabitants, which also includes the feeling of the community, in which there must be more focus on social aspects.
A citizen with a good quality of life is a happy citizen. This employee will go the extra mile to provide superior customer service. A.T.A. is aware that more needs to be done to ensure a better balance in tourism growth alongside social, cultural values, and efforts to protect our nature.
