Sinterklaas and His Pieten Have Arrived in Aruba!

ORANJESTAD – On November 16, 2025, Prime Minister Mike Eman and the Minister of Housing, drs. Rene “Baba” Herdé, together with a large group of parents and children, warmly welcomed Sinterklaas and his Pieten (helpers) to Aruba.

The children were visibly excited when Sinterklaas arrived, although some were still a little afraid that Piet might take them back to Spain.

Upon his arrival, Sinterklaas greeted the crowd and shared an important message. In line with the national reforestation plan, which aims to plant 100,000 trees over the next four years and to encourage the community to help make Aruba greener, Sinterklaas brought a special tree from Spain for the Prime Minister. He promised to plant it together with him before returning to Spain. In this way, the beloved Saint also contributes to the vision of making Aruba greener and more beautiful.

The festive parade of Sinterklaas and his Pieten continued on the tram, traveling along Caya G.F. Betico Croes and ending at Plaza La Linda, where the celebration continued.
