Safety Week 2026

Safety Week serves as an important platform for education, collaboration, and awareness, bringing together airport employees, airline partners, government agencies, service providers, emergency responders, and other members of the airport community. The program is designed to strengthen the airport's safety culture by promoting knowledge sharing, operational excellence, and a collective commitment to maintaining a safe and secure airport environment.

Throughout the week, participants engaged in a series of informative presentations and interactive sessions led by airport partners and industry experts. Topics covered included compliance with ground handling safety procedures, emerging technologies in airport safety, airside safety best practices, emergency preparedness and evacuation procedures, aerodrome maintenance, air traffic management, aircraft fueling operations, and fuel farm emergency response. Participants also had the opportunity to take part in guided site visits to the Gateway 2030 Phase 1B construction works, gaining firsthand insight into the safety measures and practices implemented within an active airport development environment.

The week concluded with AAA's second-quarter Foreign Object Debris (FOD) Walk, bringing together participants from across the airport community to conduct a thorough inspection of the airport apron. During the walk, participants identified and removed foreign object debris and other potential hazards that could affect aircraft operations, equipment, and personnel working in the airside environment. This quarterly initiative remains an important proactive measure in maintaining a safe and efficient operating environment.
