Prime Minister present at Supreme Court farewell ceremony in The Hague
ORANJESTAD — Aruban Prime Minister Mike Eman attended the official farewell ceremony for the President of the Supreme Court, Dineke de Groot, in The Hague.
Dineke de Groot is concluding her six-year term as President of the Supreme Court, the highest court in the Kingdom of the Netherlands for civil, criminal, and tax cases. This institution plays a crucial role in protecting the rule of law, the independence of the judiciary, and the uniform application of law within the Kingdom.
During the solemn ceremony, which took place during a special session of the Supreme Court, Dineke de Groot received a royal honor: she was appointed Commander in the Order of Orange-Nassau in recognition of her service.
Effective November 1, 2026, Maarten Kroeze will assume the position of President of the Supreme Court. De Groot will remain active as a justice in the civil division of the Supreme Court.
Prime Minister Eman's presence at the ceremony underscores the importance of strong institutional relations between Aruba and the judicial authorities of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, with full respect for the independence of the judiciary and the rule of law.
