Prime Minister meets new State Secretary Mr. Zsolt Szabó.

The purpose of the meeting was to introduce themselves and discuss the priorities of both parties.

The Prime Minister briefed Mr. Szabó on the current situation in Aruba, providing insights into the economy, tourism, unemployment, and inflation. She also informed Mr. Szabó about financial developments, the budget, and the priority to translate these into well-being for the Aruban community through increased purchasing power and poverty reduction.

She also mentioned current challenges, including negotiations with the Netherlands, set to begin with the new government to achieve a more favorable interest rate for the COVID debt. Additionally, they discussed the crucial topic of climate change and energy transition.

Secretary of State Szabó will visit Aruba in August to familiarize himself with the island and gain a better understanding of the work that the government and the community at large are doing for the well-being and progress of Aruba.
