Presentation of the AWSS Technical Plan to Solve the RWZI Issues
ORANJESTAD – Aruba Waste Water Solutions (AWSS) unveiled its technical proposal for the water treatment plant (RWZI) construction on July 4, 2024.
Because the problem of untreated water has not been addressed adequately for decades, it marks a historic event for our island.
The water treatment systems that function beyond their capacity are a direct menace to our tourism sector, environment, and economy. After the law passed to delegate the management of the plant to a private entity, the newly established company moved quickly to take the first steps.
Now the AWSS has a qualified team to implement the plan. The Ministries of Nature, Energy, and General Affairs, respectively, wish AWSS much success in their undertakings. The Minister of Transport, Integrity, Nature, and Elderly Affairs thanks Mr. Jossy Figaroa, who led the committee in charge of the privatization of the RWZI. In addition, he thanks the Director of the Department of Public Works, Marlon Croes, and the Director of Utilities, Aruba, Tom Rojer, for their dedication to this project.
