Police Force unveils Recognition Wall
ORANJESTAD - To honor the officers' extraordinary bravery, the Aruba Police Force has built a "Wall of Recognition."
Ensuring everyone's safety is the police's principal responsibility. Police work sometimes comes with risk and danger. There were some extremely challenging situations both this year and last, where our colleagues' actions were crucial and required bravery.
These occurrences vary, making an arrest call for bravery and may even put the colleague in danger, as do rescues and attempts to save lives. To give recognition and appreciation for this, after a special meeting, the Aruba Police Force revealed, as a surprise, a "Wall of Recognition."
On this wall in the main office in Macuarima are illustrated the pictures of these colleagues. They will put the police officer's photo on the wall for a year after High Commissioner Ramon Arnhem gives them special recognition.
More pictures will be added to the wall throughout the year. As a token of appreciation and acknowledgment for her significant contribution to the growth and survival of our Corps, the photograph of the police commissioner, Mrs. Irma Gordon, will always be on the wall.
The wall is a strengthening of effort, dedication, and dignified action of police who go an "extra mile" to provide security for our community.
