Organization Dedicated to Seniors Raises Its Voice at the Common Good Conference
ORANJESTAD – During this week’s Common Good Conference, several organizations in Aruba are sharing their experiences and commitment to the common good.
Among them is the Department of Elderly Affairs, a government agency focused on the well-being of seniors and actively addressing issues that affect the older generation on the island. The directorate’s mission is to centralize an integrated care system that includes both formal and informal services, while ensuring that seniors receive the attention and respect, they deserve.
According to Desiree Helder, Director of the Department of Elderly Affairs, participation in the conference provides an important opportunity to raise awareness about the organization’s efforts to promote the overall well-being of seniors, including social, cultural, healthcare-related, and dignity-focused initiatives.
“We are participating in the Common Good Conference to provide more information about what we do to support the overall well-being of seniors in Aruba,” Helder stated.
The organization hopes the conference will serve as a platform to connect with other organizations and institutions, strengthen communication, build new relationships, and expand collaboration in the area of the common good. Through cooperation, the directorate believes it is possible to gain a better understanding of societal challenges and to develop solutions that benefit the community as a whole.
Focusing on seniors is essential for balanced social development. The organization believes that the Common Good Conference can contribute to greater awareness of how caring for and integrating seniors are vital components of a healthy and inclusive society.
The community is invited to actively participate in the conference and the accompanying expo, contributing to the dialogue and helping shape a future in which well-being, respect, and dignity are central for all generations in Aruba.
