Official Launch of Phase 1 of 'Learning Cities Aruba'

The world is changing at a rapid pace. Artificial intelligence, digitalization, climate challenges, and global uncertainty are redefining the way we live, work, and learn. To strategically respond to this reality, Learning Cities Aruba was created—a national initiative affiliated with the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities.

This is more than just a project; it is a transformation of our education system. The goal is to foster a culture of continuous and inclusive learning that reaches every corner of our society through workshops, courses, and practical activities in neighborhoods across Aruba.

This initiative relies on a network of dedicated collaborators. Key partners include the University of Aruba and the Instituto Pedagogico Arubano (IPA), leading the way in research, adult education, and ongoing professional development for our teachers and educational leaders. The project will also partner with Tienda di Educacion, which provides educational support and resources directly in local neighborhoods for those who need it most. Finally, local and international experts will contribute insights on critical topics such as multilingualism, Caribbean inclusion, design thinking, and AI.

The initiative extends an open invitation to all sectors of the community, recognizing that Aruba's greatest resource is its people. The Ministry of Education emphasizes that collective commitment to education will serve as the foundation for everything Aruba aspires to achieve.

The Ministry calls on policymakers, educational leaders, community organizations, and international partners to join forces and co-create this national platform, positioning Aruba as a regional model for education, innovation, and resilience.
