New License Plates Mandatory as of October 1, 2025.
ORANJESTAD – The Tax Office (DIMP) informs all motorists that, starting October 1, 2025, all motor vehicles are required to display the new 2025–2029 license plates.
It means that September 30, 2025, will be the last day drivers are allowed to use the red-and-white license plates issued in 2020.
DIMP urges all taxpayers who have not yet paid their vehicle taxes for the second half of 2025, have not renewed their insurance, and/or have not made an appointment to collect the new license plates to do so as soon as possible.
The police will intensify inspections and will also crack down on anyone driving on public roads with fake or invalid license plates.
