Minister of Justice of Curaçao in Aruba for presentation on Operation Command Center.

This is an old post.

ORANJESTAD - On August 8, 2024, the Minister of Justice and Social Affairs, Mr. Rocco Tjon, welcomed the Minister of Justice of Curaçao, Mr. Shalten Hato, and his delegation to share information and best practices within the framework of the Operation Command Center.

The Police, Bossi, Setar, and Elmar gave a comprehensive presentation on the entire Operation Command Center project.

This project, which began in 2022, consists of several phases, with approximately 300 cameras installed at strategic locations such as the hotel area, the downtown area of San Nicolas, police stations, and 40 other sites across Aruba. Meanwhile, the installation of cameras in the city center is ongoing and will expand further.

In addition to the camera project, the ministry informed about introducing new processes as part of the Police Force reorganization. These processes include a central control room, call takers, dispatchers, and a radar room. They also shared information on how real-time intelligence will give content to the work. It is crucial to resolve cases more quickly and efficiently and provide police officers working in the field with real-time information. It means instant information on actions taking place at that moment, which will also ensure the safety of the police officers.

The cooperation between Aruba and Curaçao is mutual, including information exchange with Aruba within the framework of ACTPOL. This exchange ensures we can combat crime more effectively and efficiently, locally and regionally.
