Mini-Soccer Field Finds New Home at Fontein Kindergarten

This creates a dedicated new space to encourage physical activity and sports among children from an early age.

This mini-soccer field was previously installed in Carnival Village in San Nicolas during the World Cup season, where local children and families gathered to enjoy the festive soccer atmosphere. The facility has now found a permanent new home at Fontein Kindergarten, where it will serve a daily athletic and recreational purpose.

Relocating the field to a school setting provides children with direct opportunities to stay active and get introduced to sports.

“We want to give our children every opportunity to move, play, and discover sports from an early age. Having this mini-turf field directly at school creates a safe and accessible environment where they can play soccer, enjoy being active, and potentially build the foundation for athletic talent to develop in the future,”said Minister Croes.

The initiative aligns with the Ministry of Education and Sports' vision to expand facilities for physical activity within school environments. Beyond the physical health benefits, sports and exercise promote social interaction, teamwork, and overall childhood well-being. Building an active lifestyle starts early, and schools play a vital role in encouraging these habits.

The installation of the turf field is also connected to the national ARUBA ACTIVO movement, taking place on September 27, 2026, at Bushiri Beach. The event aims to bring the community together and continue promoting sports, exercise, and an active lifestyle island-wide.

The Ministry of Education and Sports wishes the students and staff at Fontein Kindergarten much enjoyment with their new mini-turf field and encourages them to make the most of it.
