Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to Strengthen a Sustainable Model for Specialized Medical Care in Aruba
ORANJESTAD – On January 16, 2026, the Minister of Public Health, Social Affairs, Elderly Care and Addiction Services, Mrs. drs. Melvin Wyatt-Ras signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) together with various healthcare partners to strengthen a sustainable model for specialized medical care in Aruba.
The MoU was established in collaboration with key organizations within the specialized healthcare sector, including the General Health Insurance Agency (AZV), Dr. Horacio E. Oduber Hospital (HOH), Instituto Medico San Nicolas (ImSan), the Aruba Association of Medical Specialists (VMSA), the Aruba Hospital Specialists Association (ASHA), the Aruba Association of Employed Medical Specialists (AVSD), and the ImSan Specialists Association Aruba (ISAA). This broad partnership highlights the significance and impact of the agreement.
By signing the MoU, the Ministry of Public Health, Social Affairs, Elderly Care and Addiction Services reaffirmed its commitment to implementing agreements focused on structural cooperation, mutual trust, and shared responsibility. The goal is to ensure a specialized healthcare system that is sustainable, transparent, and patient-centered.
According to Minister Melvin Wyatt-Ras:
