Massive Brass Band to open Grand Parade in San Nicolas and Oranjestad

This is an old post.

ORANJESTAD – Just as they introduced the Steelpan Project during Carnival 70, the Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA) announces the launch of the Asambeho Project during Carnival 71.

This innovative cultural initiative will significantly impact and contribute to Aruba’s cultural heritage. The project will feature 35 brass band musicians delivering a unique performance.

Asambeho: A Cultural Legacy

As a key part of our culture, Asambeho captures the local community and visitors' attention, creating a deep connection through music and tradition. The Asambeho Project is a collaboration between ATA and the Go Cultura Foundation (GCF), reflecting ATA’s ongoing commitment to being a catalyst for innovation and cultural preservation. ATA strengthens its role as an ally to Aruba’s Creative and Cultural Industry through this initiative.

A Celebration of Cultural Impact

The Asambeho Project serves as a powerful symbol within Aruba’s cultural landscape. This year, the project introduces a fresh and dynamic sound, with a focus on:

  • Inspiration and Creativity: Encouraging local musicians to experiment and innovate, pushing the boundaries of cultural expression.
  • Strengthening Community Bonds: Uniting various organizations and talents under a shared vision, fostering stronger community ties.
  • Boosting Cultural Tourism: Positioning Aruba as a world-class cultural destination, attracting visitors eager for an authentic island experience.
  • Empowering the Creative Industry: Providing a platform for musicians, dancers, and technical professionals to showcase their talents.

As Carnival 71 honors the past and embraces the future, the Asambeho Project is a testament to Aruba’s dynamic cultural evolution. You may explore the history of Asambeho at: https://www.aruba.com/us/our-island/history-and-culture/asambeho-history

The project fortifies ATA’s four core values – the 4 C’s: Courage, Curiosity, Compassion, and Heart.

ATA and Go Cultura Foundation invite the community to enjoy the Asambeho Project and celebrate and applaud our musicians, our heritage, and the unity the carnival brings. The Asambeho Project is more than a performance – it is a movement that reflects the rhythm of Aruba’s identity.
