Launch of Educational Material "Mi Mascota" for Schools

This is an old post.

ORANJESTAD - On Monday, September 2, 2024, Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes was present at the John F. Kennedy Center to launch the educational material "Mi Mascota."

A team of professionals compiled and created the book "Mi Mascota," (My Pet) which is essential for the community of Aruba, considering the issue of stray dogs, especially on the streets. The responsibility for a pet lies entirely with the pet owner and not with any other entity. Nevertheless, the government is helping combat this phenomenon from different angles, such as sterilization programs, awareness campaigns, promotion of responsible ownership, and the Dog Law's introduction.

This educational material helps instill the responsibility of being a good pet owner from a young age. Children, in particular, love having a puppy to play with, but when the dog grows up, there is a tendency to neglect the dog and seek another puppy. It is certainly not the correct way to treat a pet. Hence this material is essential to teach them how to care for their pet and their duties as pet owners. A puppy is not a temporary responsibility but one for life. Let's all commit together to becoming more responsible pet owners.
