Governor receives the new President of the Joint Court of Justice of Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten and of Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba
ORANJESTAD - On Monday morning, June 8, the Governor of Aruba, H.E. Alfonso Boekhoudt, received Mr. Sigmar Carmelia, the new President of the Joint Court of Justice of Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten and of Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba.
Mr. Carmelia was accompanied by Mr. Martin Luttge, Director of Operations, and Ms. Kyra de Koeijer, Board Secretary.
The audience was primarily intended as an introduction between the Governor and Mr. Carmelia.
Mr. Carmelia had been a (deputy) member of the Joint Court since 2014. Before that, he was a deputy judge/sub-district judge at the District Court of Gelderland, a lawyer, and a legal advisor at the Netherlands Institute for Human Rights.
