Governor Receives Program Leader, United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) - Caribbean
ORANJESTAD - On Thursday, January 29, the Governor of Aruba, His Excellency Alfonso Boekhoudt, received Mr. William Squier Gonzalez, Program Leader, United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) - Caribbean, for an audience.
Mr. Squier Gonzalez was accompanied during the audience by Mr. Juan Castro, Project Manager, UNOPS, and Mr. Rogelio Voges, Partnership and Liaison Specialist, UNOPS.
UNOPS is a specialized agency of the United Nations dedicated to helping governments and partners translate policy agreements into tangible, high-quality results in practice, in support of the Sustainable Development Goals. With a strong focus on implementation, UNOPS supports the execution of complex initiatives in the areas of infrastructure, procurement, and institutional strengthening, including in the penitentiary sector.
During the audience, discussions focused on what UNOPS can do for Aruba, including strengthening the rule of law and security in the Kingdom.
