Government submits 2025 Budget to Parliament.
ORANJESTAD - On Thursday, August 29, 2024, Minister of Finance and Culture Xiomara Maduro officially submitted the 2025 Budget of the Country of Aruba to the President of Parliament, Edgard Vrolijk.
Mr. Werleman, the Director of the Department of Finance, Mrs. Kock, the Head of the Budget Section, the Secretary of the Council of Ministers, and Mr. Hek, the Registrar of the Parliament, were all in attendance.
The 2025 budget has been presented to Parliament, making it the third budget that has been done so in compliance with Article V.12 of our Constitution, which states that the government must submit budgets by September 1 of the year before they go into effect.
It gives Parliament sufficient time to scrutinize the budget and work towards its approval.
The 2025 Budget includes a surplus of 138 million florins, marking the third time in many years that the Country of Aruba has had one with a surplus. The budgets of 2023, 2024, and now 2025 all feature surpluses.
Complying with our Constitution and submitting the budget on time requires tremendous effort from the team. The ministries in the Administration and the government departments, namely the Department of Legislation, Finance, Department and the Tax Department, played a crucial role in ensuring everything was completed on time and within the stipulated deadline.
