Effective August 25, 2025, the process for submitting objections (bezwaar) will be conducted digitally.
ORANJESTAD - The Customs Department is advancing its digitalization efforts for procedures and customer services.
One of these steps involves the procedure for submitting an objection (bezwaar), which will be conducted digitally via the Customs website starting Monday, August 25, 2025. Customers have the right to submit an objection if they disagree with a decision or action taken by Customs.
Customers can visit the Customs website, https://www.douane.aw/bezwaar-en-beroep/ and fill out the objection form. Customs will handle the objection internally and communicate to the client within the legally specified timeframe. If the client disagrees with the decision regarding the objection, they can appeal to the Court of First Instance.
Customers should note that as of November 1, 2025, Customs will no longer accept objections via hard copy or e-mail.
Customs requests all customers to take note of the information shared.
