Digitization of the Healthcare Sector

This is an old post.

ORANJESTAD - The Minister of Tourism and Public Health, Dangui Oduber, recently announced that the healthcare sector will be digitized using the Aruba Health App platform.

On Friday, March 8, 2024, the Ministry of Public Health and AZV received a presentation from Setar NV on the project's progress. Soon, insured individuals will notice positive changes in their personal Health App. SETAR is working on a secure appointment system for the insured and their general practitioner. The insured will have the opportunity to answer some questions via their app and, depending on the urgency, receive a response on how to proceed, followed by the option to make their appointment on the available day and time.

Additionally, SETAR is exploring how, through digitization, they can assist other entities in the healthcare sector, such as specialists and the Stichting Bob. Efforts are made to introduce these changes for all insured individuals, given the need for further improvement in medical care.

Other features include appointments with the general practitioner or specialist, the insured's medical history, prescription lookup, and other functions.

The digitization of medical care in Aruba will benefit the community and improve other medical services and the quality of care. Furthermore, this will make the work of general practitioners more efficient, transparent, and faster. This innovative system will give patients access to their medical information and more control over their health and quality of life.
