Dhaddy and Tony Recognized as National Treasures
ORANJESTAD – During the recent concert featuring Dhaddy Brokke and Tony Sherman as a duo, where they performed their nostalgic hits that have resonated for decades in households across the former Netherlands Antilles, Prime Minister Mr. Mike Eman, in his capacity as Minister of Culture, paid tribute to the artists.
The evening was particularly special as it marked the duo’s final concert together. The audience joined in enthusiastically, singing along to beloved songs that had been part of their childhood.
Organizing such a large event was no small feat, given the busy performance schedules of both singers. To honor their remarkable achievements, Prime Minister Eman presented Dhaddy and Tony with a well-deserved plaque, recognizing their contributions in bringing joy to the Antillean community through their Christmas songs, Mother’s Day tributes, and timeless ballads.
With this gesture, the Government acknowledged Dhaddy and Tony as national treasures, expressing hope to see them collaborate again in the future.
“Dhaddy and Tony can be considered part of the soul and heart of this country,” said Prime Minister Eman in his speech.
