Delegation of Gihae Tang Soo Do Aruba Wins 50 Medals at the World Championship.
ORANJESTAD - Recently, a delegation from Gihae Tang Soo Do Aruba participated in the World Tang Soo Do Association World Championship, which took place in Greensboro, North Carolina, USA.
During this world championship, the athletes from Aruba managed to win 50 medals: 23 gold, nine silver, and 18 bronze.
The participants included 1,500 athletes from 36 countries in various categories of Tang Soo Do, including countries such as Argentina, Africa, Costa Rica, Chile, Ecuador, the USA, Mexico, and others. After 16 years, Aruba once more competed in the Creativity Competition and finished in third place. Aruba held a pre-selection to participate in this competition, where only the eight best groups got permission to compete in the world championship.
The athletes from Aruba gave a beautiful presentation on the history of our island, highlighting our Caquetio indigenous people. What stood out about Aruba was that all the athletes participated in the Creativity Competition, including athletes as young as four (4) years old. Additionally, they created a wonderful atmosphere by playing live tambu music during their presentation.
The Ministry of Sports thanks the president of the Tang Soo Do Federation and "head coach" of Gihae Tang Soo Do Aruba, Mrs. Melissa Noguera, as well as the trainers and parents who contributed to the success of these athletes, and congratulates the 44 karatekas from Gihae Tang Soo Do Aruba who excelled at the World Tang Soo Do Association World Championship.
