Community Stands in Solidarity with Victims in Jamaica
ORANJESTAD — The Government of Aruba expresses its heartfelt appreciation to the community for responding generously to the call for support in the Jamaican Relief Donation Drive.
Last Saturday, November 8, 2025, Prime Minister Mike Eman visited the YMCA in San Nicolas, where the donation drive took place.
Fully aware of the devastating impact of Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica, Prime Minister Eman held several meetings with the Honorary Consul of Jamaica to explore meaningful ways Aruba could contribute. One of the outcomes of these discussions was the organization of this relief initiative.
The compassion and solidarity of the Aruban people were clearly visible throughout the day, as numerous donations poured in. The Jamaican community in Aruba also joined forces to support their brothers and sisters back home, helping to gather essential supplies that will soon reach those most affected.
Prime Minister Eman will soon speak with the Prime Minister of Jamaica to convey Aruba’s solidarity and willingness to assist. He also offered words of strength and comfort to the Jamaican community in Aruba, recognizing the immense challenges and losses caused by the hurricane.
The Government of Aruba will continue to maintain close contact and extend support in the days ahead. We thank everyone who, in one way or another, contributed to helping the Jamaican community during this difficult time.
