Carnival 72 Officially Kicks Off with Festive 11-11 Celebration
ORANJESTAD - At exactly 11:11 a.m. on November 11, the official jingle of Aruba’s Carnival rang out, marking the launch of Carnival 72.
The ceremony, held in front of guests and sponsors, signaled the start of the island’s most colorful and anticipated season.
Amid applause, music, and vibrant displays, the atmosphere reflected the excitement and pride that Carnival brings to Aruba each year.
Prime Minister Mike Eman, serving as Minister of Culture, delivered remarks during the event, congratulating the organizing bodies SMAC, MUSICA, and all those dedicated to preserving and promoting Aruba’s Carnival tradition.
He highlighted the wealth of talent within the Aruban community, particularly in art, music, and creativity, and emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration. Carnival is more than a celebration; it’s a reflection of our community spirit. Every neighborhood, club, organization, and citizen contributes in some way to making our Carnival a national treasure recognized around the world.”
The Prime Minister also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting Carnival-related organizations and activities. He encouraged the community to continue showcasing Aruba’s creativity, volunteerism, and dedication, values that make the island’s Carnival one of the best in the world.
