Book A Journey to Happiness
ORANJESTAD – On September 2, Mr. Robertico Croes presented his book A Journey to Happiness to Mrs. Astrid Britten, Director of the National Library of Aruba. The publication has now been added to the National Collection.
In A Journey to Happiness, author Robertico Croes explores the impact of tourism on both travelers and the communities they visit, examining how these interactions shape individual happiness and well-being. He highlights the benefits of tourism while also considering its multidimensional effects on culture, the environment, society, and the personal experiences of travelers. Croes advocates for a balanced approach to tourism—one that places human welfare at the core of management and practice. The book is a valuable resource not only for professionals in the tourism sector but also for students and researchers.
Dr. Robertico Croes is a professor at the UCF Rosen College of Hospitality Management. He previously served Aruba as Minister of Tourism and Economic Affairs (1994–1998) and as Minister of Finance (1998–2001). In addition to his academic and political career, Croes is also known as a poet. The library’s collection includes Portrait of an Unknown Face (Tico Croes), illustrated by artist Giolina Henriquez, and Bloody Soul, published under the pseudonym Tikoli.
