Baki den Bario on July 13 in San Nicolas

ORANJESTAD - The government announced that the next Baki den Bario will take place on Sunday, July 13, 2025, in San Nicolas.

Baki den Bario is a project under the coordination of the Bureau City Inspector, DOW, and Serlimar, where several large bins are placed in an area where neighborhood inhabitants can bring their residential waste and dispose of it responsibly.

Residents near the Watertoren in San Nicolas requested another Baki den Bario event, as many could not dispose of their waste during the last one. This time, they will place the large waste containers on the field in front of Botica Centro Medico / Pit Stop Restaurant, located in Bernhardstraat.

Maikel Gomez, spokesman for the Bureau City Inspector, informed that the community of San Nicolas and the neighborhood can dispose of their residential waste from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The entrance to the garbage containers is through the road to Zeewijk. They will control the entry and exit to ensure a good flow of traffic and to maintain order. You are not allowed to bring either old oil or commercial waste.

Mrs. Natalie Wolff, Serlimar spokeswoman, also made a call to the community to bring their waste to this event this Sunday. It is essential to separate waste at home and thus facilitate and accelerate the process so that people can make use of this opportunity. There will be various containers, including for wood, metal artifacts, and general waste.

Representative of the Ministry of Nature, Chris James, appealed to the community of San Nicolas and the neighborhood not to miss the opportunity of this action. The first edition resulted in a successful one where the community made good use, at no charge, of disposing of their yard waste.

There is a great need for such initiatives as Baki den Bario, given that since the closure of the dump in Parkietnbos, the sites assigned to take residential waste are limited to weekdays, and for many, it is priceless. The dynamic team at Baki den Bario responds properly to the call of the community and places waste containers strategically in the neighborhood to achieve the common goal: a clean Aruba to live in.
