Author of “Living Rich as a Student in the Netherlands” Presents His Book to the Minister of Education and Sport
ORANJESTAD— Recently, the Minister of Education and Sport, Endy Croes, met with Franklin Seute, author of the book “Living Rich as a Student in the Netherlands” and received a copy of it.
The young Aruban studied Mechatronics at Avans University of Applied Sciences in Breda and works in the Netherlands. During his academic journey, he noticed a significant lack of information about financial management for students. It led Franklin Seute to conduct a two-year research project on the topic: the expenses of an international student in the Netherlands and how to manage money. Using the results of this research and his own experience, Franklin wrote the book “Living Rich as a Student in the Netherlands,” published in 2020.
The book discusses the “frugal lifestyle,” which is the economical way of living to learn how to save money so that you always have enough. The book was well-received by students and helped many with their finances. The best time to develop the habit of money management and saving is when you are young.
Since 2018, Franklin has been giving presentations at Colegio Arubano about studying in the Netherlands, and every year conducts workshops on “budgeting” for students continuing their studies abroad. Franklin collaborates with the Department of Education Aruba (DEA) and Arubahuis in the Netherlands. In July, Franklin held a seminar on managing your finances, with participation from students, their parents, and the Department of Public Schools (DPS) representatives.
