A.T.A. Presents September Results and Responsible Tourism Impact Report
ORANJESTAD – The Aruba Tourism Authority (A.T.A.) has released its Responsible Tourism Impact Report as part of its September 2025 monthly update, highlighting global traveler attitudes toward sustainability and the latest tourism performance results for Aruba.
According to the report, 96% of global travelers recognize the importance of responsible tourism. Additionally, 80% believe tourism should help improve the lives of local communities, while 73% wish to leave a positive impact during their travels. However, only 23% of respondents feel they have received sufficient industry guidance to do so.
The findings also reveal that 74% of travelers are concerned about the effects of climate change on island destinations such as Aruba, and 66% consider access to nature an essential factor when choosing where to travel.
These insights reaffirm that responsible and sustainable tourism remain global priorities. A.T.A. continues to strengthen its commitment to integrating positive-impact tourism into its long-term strategy and vision for Aruba’s future.
Tourism Performance – September 2025:
2.6% Growth in Stay-Over Visitors Compared to September 2024
In September 2025, Aruba welcomed a total of 97,778 stay-over visitors, representing a 2.6% increase compared to the same period in 2024, an absolute growth of 2,493 visitors.
The strongest growth came from Latin America, particularly Argentina (+239.6%) and Brazil (+72.8%). From North America, Canada showed a solid 14.7% increase in arrivals.
Market Share by Region
As of September 2025, the distribution of visitors to Aruba was as follows:
- 69.9% from North America
- 21.7% from Latin America
- 5.3% from Europe
- 3.1% from other regions
The notable growth from Latin America was driven mainly by Argentina and Brazil. Although Europe experienced a slight decline, the North American market, particularly Canada, continued to perform strongly.
Short-Term Vacation Rentals (STVR)
A.T.A. continues to monitor and analyze the short-term vacation rental sector through the Lighthouse platform.
Comparing September 2025 with the same month in 2024:
- Average occupancy rose to 52%
- Average Daily Rate (ADR) reached USD $280
- Total year-to-date revenue through September 2025 climbed to USD $239.4 million, up from USD $189.5 million in September 2024
