ATA Latin America Celebrates 10 Years

ORANJESTAD – The Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA) recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of its Latin America office.

To mark the occasion, the Minister of Tourism, Transport, and Labor, Mr. Wendrick Cicilia, traveled to Bogotá, Colombia. His presence underscored Aruba’s firm commitment to strengthening its position in the Latin American market.

The visit also responded to requests from stakeholders and ATA Latin America for greater government support in their marketing initiatives.

An Ambitious Future

Aruba’s tourism strategy prioritizes affluent markets, particularly Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Peru, and Colombia. For 2025, the target is a 6% increase in visitors from Latin America and a 15% increase from long-haul markets such as Argentina, Brazil, and Chile.
Minister Cicilia expressed confidence that these goals will be surpassed, crediting the tireless efforts of the ATA Latin America team, combined with strong governmental backing.

Meeting with Key Partners

Minister Cicilia met with the ATA Latin America Director, Jordan Schlipklen-Croes. He emphasized that the growth in Latin American tourism is the result of years of consistent, strategic work.

The minister highlighted that the principal purpose of this visit was to reinforce and build upon the solid foundation established over the past decade.

Minister Cicilia reaffirmed that Aruba’s tourism product remains strong and appealing in Latin America. The focus moving forward will be to preserve, maintain, and further strengthen this position for years to come.
