Aruban delegation continues talks in the Netherlands on sustainable energy

ORANJESTAD – During a working visit to the Netherlands, Prime Minister Mike Eman consulted with experts on Aruba's energy transition.

The focus was on the government's new course and the implementation of its vision to make the island more sustainable.

Eman spoke with Joeri van Dun, an energy transition advisor, among others. Van Dun worked at TNO (Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research) in Aruba between 2014 and 2018 and was involved in various projects on the island and in the region. TNO continues to play a key role in the transition to wind and solar energy and supports Aruba in reducing its dependence on fossil fuels.

According to Van Dun, Aruba has great potential to achieve sustainability goals thanks to its natural resources and technological advancements.

She emphasized that knowledge exchange between Aruba and the Netherlands is of mutual importance and that collaboration in the Caribbean region can contribute to a more robust and sustainable energy system. Prime Minister Eman expressed his satisfaction with the outcomes of the talks and reiterated Aruba's commitment to continue building a greener and more resilient future.
