ORANJESTAD - The government of Aruba is hosting the Regional Meeting of Postal-Customs Strategy of The Postal Union of the Americas, Spain, and Portugal (UPAEP). 

This high-level meeting brings together the region experts and leaders to address the challenges and opportunities in the postal and customs sectors.

Minister of Economic Development, Communications, and Sustainable Development Geoffrey Wever welcomed the participants with a speech that emphasized Aruba's commitment to stimulate cooperation and innovation in this vital industry. "The emergence of e-commerce, digitization of services, and increased demand for cross-border trade have transformed how we view postal and customs operations," the Minister stated.

It focuses on finding tangible solutions to the challenges facing the evolving global postal service and the need to redefine traditional models. In this context, the collaboration between customs and postal service is more crucial than ever.

Aruba's strategic location has historically made it a hub for trade and communication. By holding this event, Aruba reaffirms its role as a leader in regional cooperation.
