Aruba celebrates cultural diversity at the Multicultural Encounter.
ORANJESTAD— On May 17, 2025, in the framework of the world celebration of World Day of Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, the Prime Minister of Aruba, mr. Mike Eman, with the Minister of Tourism, Transport, and Labor, mr. Wendrick Cicilia attended the twentieth edition of the Aruba Multicultural Encounter, which took place at Plaza Libertador Betico Croes.
The event, organized by the Department of Culture, the Government of Aruba, and UNESCO, was a tribute to Aruba's cultural richness. An island with a unique blend of language, tradition, and origin, Aruba makes a living testimony of how diversity can unite people in a single community.
During the celebration, Prime Minister Eman emphasized the importance of an event such as the Multicultural Encounter, which goes beyond a symbolic act. "This event is not a custom but a commitment to peace, empathy, and the common good. A flourishing country is due to its greatest wealth, the people, diversity, and soul," Prime Minister Eman stated this when addressing a global audience.
The multicultural evening was full of color, flavor, and music. The diverse number of kiosks offered authentic products such as art, typical food, traditional music, historical stories, and cultural expression, This celebration puts Aruba on the map as a country that embraces diversity, an example that others can follow.
The Prime Minister thanked all present, recognizing them as the engine behind our vibrant and inclusive community that has lived in coexistence and built the Aruba of the past, present, and future.
