A new member of the CAFT financial supervisory board meets with the government

This is an old post.

ORANJESTAD - On August 6, Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes and Minister of Finance and Culture Xiomara Maduro met with Mr. Marion Agunbero, the new member for Aruba in the College Aruba financial supervision (CAft).

The outgoing member, Mrs. Hellen van der Wal, was also present at the meeting.

Mr. Marion Agunbero has been the new member of Aruba in the CAft since August 1, 2024. On June 21, 2024, the Kingdom Council of Ministers approved Aruba's proposal to appoint Mr. Agunbero. Mr. Agunbero has extensive experience at the Ministry of Finance, the Central Bank, the Advisory Council, and the Pension Fund, among others. He has extensive knowledge and will now serve as the new member of Aruba in the CAft.

Mrs. van der Wal has served Aruba for two terms, totaling six years. The COVID-19 pandemic created a lot of turbulence in the relationship between the CAFT and the government needed to stabilize the financial situation affected by the pandemic. On behalf of the government of Aruba, the Prime Minister thanks Mrs. Hellen van der Wal for her work and wishes Mr. Marion Agunbero much success in the coming period.
