3rd grade students receive the book Snoop Doggy Finds a Home.
ORANJESTAD – On October 1, 2024, the Minister of Transport, Integrity, Nature, and Senior Affairs, Ursell Arends, with the Snoop Doggy Foundation, visited the Maria Goretti College to distribute the book Snoop Doggy Finds a Home.
This project started in 2023 and aims to teach third-grade students about pet care.
The student got an interactive presentation on topics such as handling ticks, daily feeding, microchipping, exercise, hygiene, and sensitivity to loud noises, such as fireworks. Alongside the Snoop Doggy Foundation team, the children had the chance to meet the pet Rohan.
The third-grade students of Maria Goretti College actively participated in the interactive presentation and learned how to read a pet microchip.
It is crucial to create a society where pet owners are more responsible. Evaluate your situation carefully before getting a pet to avoid situations where you can no longer care for the animal. We can work jointly towards making Aruba known, not only for its hospitality but also for how we care for our pets.
Education in the animal welfare and care field is something the Ministry of Nature is working hard on. Awareness projects like the schoolbook My Pet is My Responsibility will equip future generations with the values and standards that guide them toward responsible adulthood in our community.
These collective efforts will ensure a more empathetic community for our animals. Proper care and love make a difference in a pet's life. Love your pet!
