"Young Entrepreneurship Workshop" was well attended.

ORANJESTAD—The "Young Entrepreneurship Workshop" was held on April 15, 2025, by the Department of Economic Affairs, Commerce, and Industry through its Aruban Enterprise Development Initiative (IDEA) unit.

This workshop inspired and educated the young people about how to have their businesses.

The following speakers presented the following topics:

  • Dave Martinus presented the topic 'Introduction to Entrepreneurship'— Understand what it means to be an entrepreneur, the way of thinking of an entrepreneur, and how to identify business opportunities.
  • Elthon Lampe, director of 'Activated Power,' presented the topic of Artificial Intelligence (AI). During this section, participants had the opportunity to explore the world of AI and learn how to manage it in their business.

It was the first workshop in the free "Young Entrepreneurship Workshop" series. The final two are on June 10 and July 1, 2025, and the next on May 13. The time is from 8:30 am to 12:15 pm.
The workshops are at the Department of Economic Affairs, Commerce, and Industry on the second floor, room #25 of the Sun Plaza Building.

IDEA is pleased with the workshop content, reception, and the participant's positive comments. The speakers gave inspiring presentations, and the workshop was quite participatory.

IDEA would also like to note that most of their workshops are free and dedicated to everyone who wants to plan, launch, manage, or expand their business.

A big thank you to the director of the Department of Economic Affairs, Mrs. Maria Dijkhoff-Pita, for introducing this project and also to all 15 participants who actively participated during the workshop, and a special thanks to the speakers, Sr. Dave Martinus Thodé and Mr. Elthon Lampe, who shared their expertise with all those present.

Also, thanks to the Minister of Finance, Economic Affairs, and Primary Sector, Mr. Geoffrey Wever, for allowing us to continue informing and guiding all entrepreneurs through IDEA's workshops.
