Workshop for Teachers
ORANJESTAD - The National Library of Aruba warmly invites all teachers to participate in a special workshop as part of the Children’s Book Festival 2025.
The workshop is designed to help teachers introduce this year’s theme, select suitable books for the classroom, and encourage shared reading. The theme of the 2025 Children’s Book Festival is “Full of adventure.”
This year, the Instituto Pedagógico Arubano (IPA) once again partners with the library to host the workshop.
- Gino Vrolijk (teacher and facilitator) presents “A Memory for Classroom Adventures,” showing how the greatest source of inspiration often lies within yourself and how to use it to inspire children to read, celebrate books, and engage with stories.
- Daylan Krozendijk (drama teacher) presents “Adventure in Every Corner,” where drama and critical thinking are used to turn personal memories into unforgettable classroom adventures.
- Valerie Figaroa (Children’s Book Festival coordinator and head of the School Media Library Department) will highlight a selection of books related to this year’s theme that are available in the library, and she will share practical classroom tips.
The Children’s Book Festival will take place from November 3 to 7, 2025. During this week, children’s book authors and illustrators will visit participating schools. Schools will receive participation forms by mail.
The teacher workshops will be held on:
- September 29 and 30 at the Playa Library
- October 1 at the San Nicolas Library
