Visit from the Amsterdam University of the Arts to the Aruba Department of Culture
ORANJESTAD – As part of educational and cultural cooperation within the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the director of the Aruba Department of Culture (DCA), Drs. Siegfried Dumfries welcomed a delegation from the Amsterdam University of the Arts (AHK).
The visit focused on the joint project to develop a customized Short Theatre Teacher Training Program, in collaboration with the ABC and SSS islands, a program specifically tailored to the needs of theatre teachers in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom.
During this week, various workshops will take place in Aruba, involving participants from across the Kingdom. The outcomes of these sessions will lay the groundwork for the continued development of the customized program.
The visit is part of the Four Countries Consultation (4LO), which focuses on Education, Culture, and Science, and aims to strengthen educational and cultural cooperation within the region.
Per the Aruba Department of Culture, the meeting was productive and inspiring, contributing to the ongoing development of Aruba's creative and educational sectors. The delegation from the Amsterdam University of the Arts consisted of Dennis Meyer, Corina Lok, Saundra Williams, and Amy Lasten.
