Vehicles confiscated by police will be stored at R.S.I.
ORANJESTAD—The Aruba Police Force announces that as of July 7, 2025, R.S.I. (Recovery Solutions & Investigation) will take all vehicles removed by them into custody (this excludes vehicles confiscated as part of a criminal investigation).R.S.I. is located at Avenida Milio Croes 40 A, Dakota, ex Malboro Ball Park.
As is known, on March 20, 2024, a public tender took place, and the company R.S.I. won the bid for the project of "Preservation, Storage, and Removal Services KPA."
The company R.S.I. will have as a task as of July 7, 2025:
- They are responsible for taking the vehicle taken by police and taking it to the location of R.S.I., located on Avenida Milio Croes.
- They are responsible for vehicle management and storage.
- Every car that the police remove will be taken into R.S.I. custody. \
- The hours the owner can pick up their vehicle are Monday to Saturday from 09:00 am to 8:00 pm at R.S.I.
- To retrieve the vehicle, the owner must present the valid documents and pay towing and storage costs, as stated in Article 20 and Article 30 of the Landsverordening Wegverkeer (AB 1997 no. 18), as well as Article 1, subsections B and C, and Articles 5 and 6 of the Retributie- en Legesbesluit Korps Politie Aruba 2002 (AB 2003 no. 4).
Payment is only via the swipe machine at the R.S.I. Cash is not accepted.
The costs are as follows:
- To take the vehicle is Afl. 175,-
- If the vehicle, e.g., is pulled off the road and put aside, this is Afl. 75.
- Each day that the vehicle remains at R.S.I. has a cost of Afl 25.
Please note that if you do not pick up your vehicle within 48 hours, you will receive a letter at home detailing additional costs.
After 90 days in custody, the vehicle will either be sold at auction or destroyed if not sold.
