Unveiling of the Aruban Coat of Arms at the Government Building

ORANJESTAD – On January 1, the official unveiling of the Aruban coat of arms took place at the Government Building.

The ceremonial act brought together symbolism, history, and national identity and formed part of the festivities surrounding Status Aparte and the institutional development of the Aruban Parliament. It also served as a powerful reminder of the values upon which our country is built.

The Aruban coat of arms, as a national symbol, reflects the identity, strength, and aspirations of the Aruban people and stands as a symbol of autonomy, dignity, and collective responsibility.

The celebration of the coat of arms is directly connected to Aruba’s history as an autonomous country within the Kingdom and to the path that led to Status Aparte. National symbols such as the coat of arms, the national anthem, and the flag not only represent the past but also serve as a guide for today’s decisions and for the future of the country, stated Aruban Prime Minister Mike Eman in his address during the ceremony.

The unveiling of Aruba’s coat of arms is a symbol of continuity: a bridge between past, present, and future. At a time when Aruba is preparing to celebrate 40 years of Status Aparte and 50 years of the national anthem and flag, this act reaffirmed the country’s commitment to its identity, its people, and the principle of the common good.

With national pride and respect for history, the coat of arms of Aruba remains an enduring symbol of unity, perseverance, and hope for present and future generations.
