Twenty-two members of the Aruba Fire Department are in training in the USA under the ICAO framework.

This is an old post.

ORANJESTAD - On Saturday, July 13, 2024, a group of 22 members of the Aruba Fire Department traveled to the United States to attend a certification course by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

This course is essential to obtain certification and for the country and organization to meet some requirements stipulated by the ICAO. The plan was presented to the Fire Department, which has worked on a structure to comply with all these standards.

It involves various needed investments in infrastructure, materials, and equipment, but also the professional development of those working in the fire department. This course is crucial, and there will be more in the future.

The plan includes processes that need to be adapted, for which it is crucial to have good communication, including with unions, to meet the ICAO requirements.
