ORANJESTAD—On August 16, 2025, three customs officers traveled to Curaçao for the first part of the customs inspector training.

Dutch Customs gives the training for two years. The first year of the training will include theoretical and practical components, culminating in an internship in the Netherlands in 2026. The second year will focus on the specific tasks of the position of a Verificateur, including a combination of theory and "on-the-job" training.

During this training, customs agents Juancho Geerman, Andre Sneek, and Edward Maduro, along with colleagues from the Caribbean region, including Curaçao, Sint Maarten, and Bonaire, will study various customs subjects at the HBO level.

Customs Department management is proud to send the three officials for the training and wishes them much success in this professional journey. We are confident that this training will contribute to a stronger customs service for Aruba.
