Third Edition of Autentico Aruba Culinary Festival Celebrates Aruba as a Culinary Destination

ORANJESTAD — During a week completely dedicated to gastronomy, from October 3 to 11, 2026, the third edition of the Autentico Aruba Culinary Festival brought together the community, visitors, and industry professionals to celebrate the diversity, authenticity, and high quality of Aruba’s culinary scene.

Autentico consisted of five key components: Restaurant Week, Bucket List Experiences, the Industry Seminar, the Student Seminar, and the main weekend event, The Pavilion. Together, these offerings provided unique experiences for consumers, professionals, and emerging talent in the culinary industry. Each component contributed to a single overarching objective: to highlight the richness and quality of Aruba’s culinary landscape while strengthening the island's positioning as a premier regional and international culinary destination.

During the two-day festival at The Pavilion, more than 50 food and beverage vendors gathered to present unique recipes and concepts. Approximately 4,000 residents and visitors attended to enjoy an authentic gastronomic experience, discovering flavors and traditions that each represented a part of Aruba’s rich culinary identity.

Strengthening Knowledge and Excellence in Our Culinary Industry

Autentico is much more than a food festival. More than 125 young people participated in the special seminar for students, where local industry professionals shared their knowledge and experiences to inspire youth and create valuable connection opportunities within the sector.

The Industry Seminar brought together over 100 gastronomy and hospitality professionals, including restaurant owners. This initiative provided an essential platform for sharing knowledge, promoting innovation, and strengthening industry collaboration.

The Industry Seminar featured insights from internationally recognized experts:

  • Sian Young shared best practices on food waste management and sustainable operations.
  • Lindsey Peckham, an experienced hospitality leader, presented strategies for delivering exceptional customer service and building strong teams.
  • Werner Loens, former director and chief inspector of the MICHELIN Guide Benelux, offered valuable advice on raising quality standards to achieve international recognition.
  • Virgilio Martínez, world-renowned chef, shared inspiring highlights from his career and presented a live culinary demonstration.

"Autentico is much more than an event; it is an investment in the future of our island's culinary product. By bringing experts of international caliber to Aruba, we create opportunities to share knowledge, inspire excellence, and strengthen our position as a world-class culinary destination," stated the Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA).

Interactive Experiences at The Pavilion

One of the most valuable additions to this year’s edition was the variety of interactive activities offered at The Pavilion. Local and international talent hosted masterclasses and mixology sessions, allowing participants to not only enjoy unique food and drink creations but also learn directly from expert chefs and mixologists. These sessions added depth to the event, fostering meaningful engagement between the audience and industry professionals.

Additionally, the program featured interactive games in Papiamento that showcased Aruba’s culinary history and brought authentic local characters to life. Combining education, culture, and entertainment, these activities created memorable experiences for visitors of all ages.
