The Second Edition of the Savaneta Seafood Festival Takes Place This Sunday
ORANJESTAD — This Sunday, September 27, Savaneta will once again take center stage for fishing, gastronomy, culture, and community during the second edition of the Savaneta Seafood Festival.
Following a successful inaugural edition in 2025, Savaneta Prome Capital is organizing the festival once again. The goal is to provide a lasting platform for local fishers, producers, and entrepreneurs while keeping Savaneta's fishing tradition central to the development of the primary sector.
The foundation is organizing this unique event in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance, Economic Affairs, and Primary Sector, alongside various public and private partners. The initiative was born from a vision to celebrate Savaneta's fishing heritage, stimulate economic activity within the community, and continue positioning the town as the fishing capital of Aruba.
Delicious Food and a Broader Purpose
This Sunday, visitors can enjoy a wide variety of fish and seafood, culinary delights, live music, entertainment, crafts, and various activities in a cozy, family-friendly atmosphere.
However, behind the festivities lies a broader purpose: connecting local fishing with gastronomy, entrepreneurship, and culture. This creates more opportunities for a sector deeply rooted in the Aruban identity. After all, the value of local fishing doesn't end when the fish is brought ashore; it continues to contribute to food preparation, trade, and cultural experiences.

"We want to see a primary sector that creates opportunities," says Minister of Finance, Economic Affairs, and Primary Sector Geoffrey Wever. "A sector that not only preserves our tradition but also innovates, generates income, and offers prospects for the next generation. For Savaneta, fishing is part of its history, but it can also be an important part of its economic future."
The second edition is once again an opportunity to put local products in the spotlight and showcase what is possible when the government, community, fishers, and entrepreneurs join forces.
Minister Wever invites the entire Aruban community and visitors to come to Savaneta this Sunday, September 27, between 11:00 AM and 7:00 PM, to enjoy the atmosphere and learn more about Savaneta's fishing culture and traditions.
